Timon Schellingerhout, Simone Guezen, Robert Geveke, Marit Otto, Everdien Post, Corine Aalvanger, Kim Versteegh and Meike van der Weij are showing their work in the Academiehuis connected under the title ON OUT OF CONNECTION.

There is little that binds the artists, indeed they only just know each other. But the common ground is found in the need to make a distinct choice in expressiveness and imagination. One artist does this by referring to an actual recent event, the other makes a poetic link to contemporary issues or depicts idiosyncratic rebelliousness through portraits, is completely outspoken in his working method. There is much that is outspoken.

Through many channels, opinion and also opinion finds its way. Surfing along on waves of hypes seems logical. Even if dominant expressions easily find their way, this makes them no longer true or valuable. But swimming against the current seems pointless. Then it appears that you are suddenly outspoken, out spoken and you turn unspoken to the realm of imagination to have your say there.
