Objective:
The foundation aims to serve the public interest by promoting the preservation of the Grote of Sint Michaëlskerk in the city of Zwolle as a pastoral, diaconal and liturgical heart of and for the city and as a social and cultural center in the center of the city.
The means by which the foundation pursues its purpose include at least:
acquiring objects historically and/or culturally related to the building;
promoting and facilitating research into the historical, cultural and/or religious significance of the building and its inventory;
presenting the building and its inventory to visitors to the city of Zwolle;
organizing and/or facilitating activities that give the building current cultural, educational and/or spiritual significance, whether or not in cooperation with other museum, cultural and/or educational institutions.
Beleidsplan:
De stichting geeft uitvoering aan het besluit van de Algemene Kerkenraad van de Protestantse Gemeente Zwolle d.d. 5 januari 2015, dat de Grote Kerk als hart van de stad moet gaan functioneren door onderdak te bieden aan een samenhangende combinatie van kerkelijke en culturele activiteiten in brede zin.
Remuneration policy:
The directors can only claim expenses actually incurred.
In accordance with Article 3, paragraph 8 of the Articles of Association, they receive no remuneration.
Activities performed:
The foundation maintains the Grote of Sint Michaëlskerk in Zwolle. The foundation is having the space redecorated and is raising funds for this purpose. Preparations for the restoration of the Schnitger organ are well advanced. The consistory has already been renovated. The church is used for concerts, exhibitions, receptions, business and cultural events and for church activities. The foundation develops cultural and educational activities in cooperation with other parties in Zwolle.
The foundation is not responsible for church activities. These fall under the responsibility of the Protestant Congregation Zwolle, which intends to build its own partnership with other faith communities for this purpose.
